The increasing number of tourist visits to the Komodo National Park KNP has had various impacts on the local communities. This report concerns findings of research conducted regarding community perspectives on tourism development in the KNP and its environs. A quantitative analysis using Structural Equation Modelling SEM was performed to analyse the responses of the local community regarding sustainable, community-based tourism development including social equity, cultural vitality, environmental sustainability and economic prosperity.

The main purpose of this research is to examine the effects of sustainable tourism on sustainable community development in coastal regions in the UK. This research also seeks to investigate the extent of sustainable tourism practices and the extent of sustainable community development practices in the coastal regions in the UK.
From to , the growth of tourism in the tourist villages desa wisata of Karimunjawa underwent rapid progress. However, the level of poverty in Karimunjawa remained high. Nevertheless, the involvement of rural people in the sustainable development of tourism has received only limited discussion. Empirical evidence of variations in the capacity to respond to changes of socioeconomic and ecological environments due to tourism development is presented.
Sustainable tourism development guidelines and management practices are applicable to all forms of tourism in all types of destinations, including mass tourism and the various niche tourism segments. Sustainability principles refer to the environmental, economic, and socio-cultural aspects of tourism development, and a suitable balance must be established between these three dimensions to guarantee its long-term sustainability. Sustainable tourism development requires the informed participation of all relevant stakeholders, as well as strong political leadership to ensure wide participation and consensus building.
